At RVAM Mental Health, we specialize in using an Integrative and Functional approach to help our adult patients with a variety of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, insomnia and ADHD. Our practitioner has extensive experience in helping patients obtain practical tools to manage their symptoms and improve their quality of life.
As mental health practices have evolved, we found that accepting insurance didn’t allow us to provide the most effective care for our patients.
Your Right to Privacy
When insurance companies do cover treatment, the insurance company will have employees (who may not be clinicians) audit your treatment plan and read what we talked about in the treatment notes. I believe that you have a right to confidentiality of your medical records.
Providing the Best Treatment Plan for You
Insurance companies may debate what mental health treatments they will cover, or even outright decline to cover some mental health services. Part way through your mental health care journey, the insurance company may decline authorization of additional appointments. The insurance company may make their decisions based on feedback from their auditors (who may not be clinicians) that may not be in the best interest of you, the patient. It is our belief, at RVAM Mental Health, that the care provided is based on the needs of each individual patient, free of the influence of any insurance company’s auditors.
